Oil, Gas & Pipeline Assets
83% of coating failures start at the surface. Our Controlled Preparation Systems clean and profile steel in one action, with process control built in, giving heavy-duty coatings a documented foundation.
Puntos críticos de control
In oil, gas, and pipeline operations, surface preparation is not a secondary task, it is a critical control point for corrosion protection, safety, and asset longevity.
“Over 83% of coating failures start with flawed surface preparation, we remove the variable.”
Extreme exposure
Moisture, hydrocarbons, saltwater, and temperature extremes.
Mechanical stress
High stress at weld seams, edges, and joints.
Limited access
Difficult access during construction or in-service maintenance.
Safety risk
Premature coating failure leading to safety hazards.
Prevention-first strategy
Traditional approaches often address corrosion after coating failure has already started. MontiPower enables a prevention-first strategy, ensuring steel surfaces are correctly prepared before coating application, reducing the risk of failure throughout the asset lifecycle.

Critical pipeline areas
Weld seams & HAZ
Create a controlled, homogeneous surface profile without damaging the base material, ensuring proper coating adhesion where stress is highest.
Edges & flanges
Achieve consistent preparation on complex geometries that are difficult or impractical to abrasive blast.
In-field maintenance
Prepare steel surfaces on-site without loose abrasives, extensive containment, or shutdowns.
ATEX environments
Operate in explosive atmospheres where traditional blasting is restricted (see ATEX certification below).
Ventajas para el sector

Comparable to ISO 8501-1 Sa 2½ & Sa3 abrasive-blast cleanliness, without the grit.
Environmental
Reduced environmental impact and waste management costs.
HSE & logistics
Improved safety conditions and simplified on-site logistics.
Versatility
Suitable for new build, repair, and maintenance programs.
Proven performance
Trusted in onshore, offshore, and subsea applications.
Asset longevity
Ensures long-term coating performance and integrity.

Trusted on projects worldwide
A hand-held tool reaching a cleanliness comparable to ISO 8501-1 Sa 2½ & Sa3 (SSPC-SP 10/SP 5, NACE No. 2/No. 1) with a 65–85 µm (2.6–3.3 mil) profile, replacing abrasive blast equipment for weld-seam prep, pipeline construction, repair and inspection. In a 2023 Wales & West Utilities field trial, a comparable scope took 45 person-minutes with Bristle Blasting against 260 with grit blasting.

Resources for this industry
Field-proven on live lines: the documented cases, research and practice guides behind pipeline preparation.
Specify the spark-free option for hazardous zones.
The Bristle Blaster® Pneumatic Ultimate has undergone an independent ignition-hazard analysis and ATEX 2014/34/EU conformity evaluation, so surface preparation can continue in live hazardous areas without hot-work permits for electric tools.
Category 2, zone 1 gas & zone 21 dust
Bristle Blaster® Pneumatic Ultimate
Brush-discharge testing recorded no measurable discharge — passed for gas groups IIA, IIB and IIC.
Eight drops in ambient and frozen condition — no damage that reduces the tool’s ignition safety.
Operated inside explosive propane-air atmospheres (group IIA) with no ignition observed.
Markings shown reflect the scope of the independent ATEX conformity evaluation. Confirm the certified marking on the tool nameplate and Declaration of Conformity for your specific configuration before specifying.
