Master at heights · Prepper® Robotics with Voliro
Aeroblaster®: drone-based surface preparation.
The Bristle Blaster®, integrated onto the Voliro T aerial robotics platform. Grit-free preparation at height, without scaffolding, rope access or shutdowns.
- Preparación comparable a metal desnudo SSPC-SP 11
One flight, three steps.
Every Aeroblaster + Voliro deployment follows the same sequence, documented start to finish.
Surface preparation
The Aeroblaster payload, co-developed with MontiPower, prepares the substrate to a profile comparable to SSPC-SP 11 (≥ 25 µm profile), externally validated by an independent lab and reviewed by SGK, the Swiss Society for Corrosion Protection.
Coating application
With each patch prepared, the Voliro T applies an industry-standard 2K protective coating using its precision roller applicator payload, already familiar to asset integrity teams.
Reporting
Every patch is documented with images and video captured during the operation and stored in the Voliro Cloud: a timestamped, traceable record of what was repaired, where and how.
Cement plant, steel silo: spot repair by drone
Voliro Product Manager Dennis den Elzen ran the complete aerial spot-repair workflow live, on genuine corroded steel, not a test panel.
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Asset | Cylindrical steel silo, cement plant |
| Patches completed | 3 × approx. 30 × 30 cm |
| Total duration | Under 1 hour |
| Production downtime | Zero |
| Surface prep standard | Comparable to SSPC-SP 11 (≥ 25 µm profile) |
| Coating applied | PPG Protective & Marine |
| Operator | Dennis den Elzen, Voliro Product Manager |
The economics of early intervention, changed.
Conventionally, the same three patches at height would need scaffolding and two to four days of site activity, or a rope-access team with weeks of lead time: costs that in practice mean small patches get deferred, grow, and become larger problems. The Voliro T executed all three from the ground in under an hour. The same aircraft that carries the Aeroblaster payload also carries Voliro's NDT inspection payloads (ultrasonic testing, pulsed eddy current, dry film thickness), so inspection and repair become one integrated workflow, delivered by the same crew on the same visit. If you have a steel asset with active corrosion and want to run a Spot Repair demo or proof of concept on-site, get in touch.

MontiPower® and Voliro announce strategic partnership.
Zurich, Switzerland / Hennef, Germany: Voliro AG and MontiPower® today announced a strategic partnership integrating MontiPower's Bristle Blaster® and MBX® surface treatment systems with the Voliro T aerial robotic platform. The integration lets operators perform certified surface treatment at height or in constrained environments without scaffolding, lifts or rope access, with Voliro's adaptive force-control and AI-guided positioning delivering uniform, repeatable results while keeping crews out of high-risk zones. The integrated MontiPower–Voliro aerial surface treatment solution is expected for early access in Q1 2026.

Built with the right partners.
Contact-capable aerial surface preparation is a system: the tool head, the flight platform, and the operators.
