How to Treat Corroded Pinholes with the Bristle Blaster
Pinhole corrosion on pipes, tanks and vessels needs local treatment: the damaged area must be cleaned to bare metal and profiled before repair or recoating, without mobilizing abrasive blasting for a spot the size of a coin.
Why is pinhole corrosion difficult to treat?
The corrosion sits in and around a small depression. Grinding tends to smear the surface and can enlarge the defect; blasting a tiny area means containment, media and disposal out of all proportion to the job. The repair or coating then depends on the quality of preparation in exactly the hardest spot to reach.
