How to Remove Stickers and Vinyl in Cold Weather
Cold is the enemy of adhesive removal: vinyl turns brittle, adhesive hardens, and the heat-gun-and-scraper method becomes slow and paint-hostile. Fleet and signage work does not wait for summer.
Why do stickers resist removal in the cold?
Below roughly 10°C, plasticizers stiffen and the adhesive bond outlasts the film, so the vinyl tears into fragments and leaves its adhesive behind. Warming large surfaces outdoors is slow and uneven.
How does the Vinyl Zapper handle it?
The natural-rubber eraser wheel works mechanically, not thermally: it lifts vinyl and adhesive together without heating the panel, and the OEM paint stays untouched. The video shows a removal at -5°C.
