The complete system for getting the surface right.
A tool covers one step and leaves you to join up the rest. MontiPower® gives you a complete, accountable method, from heavy removal through to a verified, coating-ready result, and the support to keep it running. Four steps. One system. One partner responsible for the whole outcome.
The whole problem, solved by one partner
A tool solves one step and leaves you to integrate the rest. A system takes responsibility for the outcome, and that's worth more than any single feature.
One method, fewer variables
Steps designed to work together. Tercoo® extends belt life, the profile suits the coating, the result is verifiable. Less guesswork, fewer failures.
Accountable to the outcome
We don't hand off responsibility at the point of sale. From removal to verified profile, one partner stands behind the coating-ready result.
Built for the field
The whole method runs without a blast yard, in-service, confined spaces, at height. Where traditional systems can't go, ours can.
Grit-free, by design. No loose abrasive, no spent media, no secondary contamination, safer for the people doing the work, and better for the environment around it. Closing Cycles →
75–80%
of premature coating failures are caused, in whole or in part, by deficient surface preparation or application.1
1 Industry estimate, protective-coatings inspection literature. MontiPower's Controlled Preparation System is built to remove that variable. See the field measurement guide and corrosion-control framework.
Strip it back
Each step solves part of the surface-preparation problem, and each hands off cleanly to the next. The Bristle Blaster® you may know us for is step two of four.
Impact-based surface preparation
Bristle Blasting is an impact-based surface preparation process — not conventional rotary wire brushing.
Bristle Blasting shall be performed using an impact-based bristle blasting tool that removes corrosion, scale and existing coatings while simultaneously generating a clean, textured steel surface with an anchor profile. The surface shall not be polished or burnished. Conventional rotary wire brushing, or any other action that primarily rubs, smears or polishes the substrate, shall not be considered equivalent to Bristle Blasting.
Made for the difficult surface: Rust Grade D
The difference becomes particularly important on ISO 8501-1 Rust Grade D steel, where the mill scale has rusted away and general pitting is visible to the naked eye. Flat abrasive tools primarily act on the highest points of the surface. Deep corrosion pits can therefore remain difficult to access and may retain corrosion products even when the surrounding steel appears clean.
The dynamically impacting bristle tips of the Bristle Blaster® individually strike and retract from the irregular steel surface. This allows the process to work across irregular and pitted substrates while simultaneously creating a fresh surface texture and anchor profile.
Clean the peaks. Reach the pits. Create the profile.
That combination makes Bristle Blasting particularly suited to maintenance and rehabilitation of aged, corroded and pitted steel where abrasive blasting is impractical or undesirable.
One operation. Three functions.
Corrosion, scale and existing coatings
Irregular and pitted steel surfaces
Generate a textured anchoring surface for the subsequent coating
Bristle Blasting® = Impact. Clean. Profile.
Proven on the coatings and substrates that matter
Every removal below has been documented and verified by 3D surface scan, on panels from leading heavy-duty coating manufacturers including Carboline, PPG and AkzoNobel. One method, across steel, stainless, aluminum, wood, concrete and composite.
Cleanliness comparable to abrasive blasting (11 mm BB belt, Rustgrade D) and AMPP SSPC-SP 10 / SP 5 (NACE No. 2 / No. 1). Results vary with steel grade, rust grade, belt and technique.
