AIRAPP is now
part of MBX®.

In 2022 the AIRAPP tool division joined the Monti group. The tools now belong to the MBX® range by MontiPower®: models and specifications are unchanged, and they are supplied and serviced from Hennef, Germany, and through MontiPower® distributors worldwide.

The range covers needle scalers, chisel hammers, random orbital sanders, polishers, a belt sander, impact wrenches from ¼" to 1" drive, ratchet wrenches, blow guns, spray guns, an oscillating cutter for bonded glass, tyre inflators and lubrication products: 76 tools in total, all listed on this page.

The tools are rated at 6.2 bar flow pressure. Most have a ¼" BSPT air inlet; the larger ¾" and 1" impact wrenches use a ⅜" or ½" inlet, as stated on each tool. Use clean, dry, lubricated compressed air and a hose sized for the tool's air demand.

For heavy scale, rust and old coatings on welds, edges and contours, use a needle scaler (GN4 to GN7). For chiselling and breaking out material, use a chisel hammer. When you need clean, profiled steel ready for coating, the Bristle Blaster® is the better choice; MBX® is made for vehicle bodywork and thinner substrates.

Each impact and ratchet wrench lists its working range: the torque it delivers in normal use. The values were measured on a hydraulic test rig, so torque on the job depends on air pressure, hose length, the fastener and the socket. The SL175-4TDG is limited to 90 Nm when tightening, for wheel nuts. Finish safety-critical fasteners with a calibrated torque wrench.

Lubricate the air motor regularly with air motor oil (ZL-L) or fit an in-line oiler (ZL-2 for ¼" lines, ZL-3 for ⅜" lines), and grease impact mechanisms and angle gears with ZL-SF90. Drain water from the compressed-air line and keep the tool's inlet clean.
