MTEST (MontiPower<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Test Equipment and Speciality Tools) provides quality control instruments for coating inspection, non-destructive testing and welding inspection equipment. The office of MTEST is located in Houston, Texas, with a broad geographical footprint. MTEST is an active member of the Houston Coating Society.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b><i>The question we wanted to answer while conducting this test: Will the Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> remove salts?<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12032&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>The regular RED PAPER from MontiPower<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>. Full of nice to know &#8211; and need to know &#8211; facts about the most optimal surface preparation since 1987.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; el_class=&#8221;textcomp&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1589962725517{margin-top: -10px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12038&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">MTEST took three panels, salted them with sodium chloride, wet them with water, and left them outside for two weeks. They then took a test on the rust and as expected the salt readings were high.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12051&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The average readings were as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">TOTAL SALT &#8211; 115.7\u338d\/CM2.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">TOTAL CHLORIDES &#8211; 36 \u338d\/CM2.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12177&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; el_class=&#8221;textcomp&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1589962315313{margin-top: -10px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12059&#8243; img_size=&#8221;600&#215;800&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">One of the panels was blasted solely using the Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A second panel was blasted by a Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> after splashing deionized water on the surface.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A third panel was blasted by a Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> after splashing a surfactant on the surface.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The panels were then left to sit for 24 hours before verifying their condition for rust.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><b>ONLY<br \/>\n<b>BRISTLE BLASTING<\/b><\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Using only the Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, MTEST found:<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Total Salts: 5-12 \u338d\/cm<sup>2<br \/>\n<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">TOTAL Chlorides: 3-5 \u338d\/cm<sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>There were small patches of rust that appeared within a <i>24 hour <\/i>period.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12087&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><b><span style=\"color: #000000;\">BRISTLE BLASTING WITH DEIONIZED WATER<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">Using the Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> after pouring 3ml of deionized water on the surface, MTEST found:<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Total Salts: 1-2 \u338d\/cm<sup>2<br \/>\n<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">TOTAL Chlorides: 1 \u338d\/cm<sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>There were small patches of rust that appeared within a <i>24 hour <\/i> period.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=&#8221;black&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><b>BRISTLE BLASTING WITH SURFACTANT<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">Using the Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> after pouring a 3ml surfactant mixture on the surface, MTEST found:<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Total Salts: 1 \u338d\/cm<sup>2<br \/>\n<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">TOTAL Chlorides: 0 \u338d\/cm<sup>2<\/sup><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>There was no rust on the surface for a <i>48 hour <\/i> period.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section full_width=&#8221;stretch_row&#8221; el_class=&#8221;textcomp&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1589962343960{margin-top: -10px !important;}&#8221;][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;12073&#8243; img_size=&#8221;800&#215;600&#8243; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT THE BRISTLE BLASTER<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB AT REMOVING SALTS.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Testing shows that the Bristle Blaster<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> itself removes a significant amount of surface salts, but when used with water or even better a surfactant mixture surface salts can be reduced even further to trace amounts only.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Warning:<\/strong><\/em><\/span> <em>This was a very limited study.
